Domani sarà una giornata cruciale per la spedizione italiana a Parigi: ad entrambi i nostri giocatori impegnati è stato infatti dato l’onore del Campo Centrale, ed entrambi giocheranno contro avversari ostici.
Ad inaugurare il programma ci sarà Sara Errani, che sarà opposta alla campionessa 2009 del torneo, la russa Svetlana Kuznetsova: i precedenti non promettono bene, in quanto Sveta conduce 5-0, anche se le due non si sono mai incontrate sulla terra battuta.
Va peggio ad Andreas Seppi, che giocherà domani la seconda partita di giornata contro il numero uno del mondo, il serbo Novak Djokovic: l’azzurro ha perso tutti i sette i precedenti, l’ultimo dei quali ha avuto luogo sulla terra di Montecarlo (6-1 6-4 lo score finale).
Per quanto riguarda la competizione di doppio, domani sarà anche la volta di Daniele Bracciali, impegnato nel misto con Galina Voskoboeva: la coppia italo/kazaka affronterà il duo argentino formato da Dulko/Schwank (quarto match sul campo 6).
Al via domani anche il torneo junior: in campo per i colori italiani Matteo Donati (contro il francese Laurent Lokoli, terzo match sul campo 7), Camilla Rosatello (contro Katerina Siniakova, ultimo match sul campo 11), Pietro Licciardi (contro Mitchell Krueger, secondo match sul campo 16), e Gianluigi Quinzi (che partecipa al torneo come testa di serie numero due), che affronterà domani Alexios Halebian (primo match sul campo 17).
Per quanto riguarda il Suzanne Lenglen, il secondo match vedrà in campo la bielorussa Victoria Azarenka: per lei Dominika Cibulkova, che la numero uno del mondo ha battuto sette volte su otto. A seguire Roger Federer, che giocherà contro la sorpresa del torneo, il belga David Goffin (primo incontro tra i due), e Tomas Berdych, che sfiderà Juan Martin Del Potro. Ricordiamo che l’argentino conduce 3-2 negli H2H, ma che Berdych ha vinto l’ultimo incontro, quello sulla terra blu di Madrid, grazie a due serratissimi tie-break.
